That's right! you heard it hear first.
Chanté's mom flew into DC!!
Of course she had to fly in when we got our first snow/ice storm, but we got her back to our apartment with minimal slips and slides. Chanté wanted her mom close for the new baby experience. Jake on the other hand wanted it for himself, just like your first Christmas should be as new husband and wife. But as a first time Grandma, she's über excited and welcome to share in the experience.
As far as getting labor to progress, we've tried all the normal things, short of Castor Oil. We even walked all 19 floors of our high-rise apartment complex. So far, no Xan. I guess he's been paying attention to the weather reports and he knows that it is much too cold outside of the womb so he's decided to postpone his arrival. I just wish we had a copy of his new itinerary.
In the meantime, we've been taking advantage of the sightseeing in D.C. On Thursday, we took Grandma to see the Arlington Cemetery. That was number one on her list of things to see so we put that one first. Yesterday, we went to the National Archives where the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution are on display. We also enjoyed a couple wings of the American History Museum.
Well, we'll keep everyone posted on our progress but as for now, we're still just playing while Grandma is in town.
Yes I'm 2 days past my due date in this picture.
