Episode 20: Mom in DC!

That's right! you heard it hear first.

Chanté's mom flew into DC!!

Of course she had to fly in when we got our first snow/ice storm, but we got her back to our apartment with minimal slips and slides. Chanté wanted her mom close for the new baby experience. Jake on the other hand wanted it for himself, just like your first Christmas should be as new husband and wife. But as a first time Grandma, she's über excited and welcome to share in the experience.

As far as getting labor to progress, we've tried all the normal things, short of Castor Oil. We even walked all 19 floors of our high-rise apartment complex.  So far, no Xan. I guess he's been paying attention to the weather reports and he knows that it is much too cold outside of the womb so he's decided to postpone his arrival. I just wish we had a copy of his new itinerary.

In the meantime, we've been taking advantage of the sightseeing in D.C.  On Thursday, we took Grandma to see the Arlington Cemetery. That was number one on her list of things to see so we put that one first. Yesterday, we went to the National Archives where the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution are on display. We also enjoyed a couple wings of the American History Museum.

Well, we'll keep everyone posted on our progress but as for now, we're still just playing while Grandma is in town.

Here we are on the National Mall.
Look at that handsome man!

Yes I'm 2 days past my due date in this picture.

Jake Will Be a Great Daddy!

Don't be fooled. No, we haven't had the little one yet. Here's a couple pics of Jake holding our friends' newborn baby. These pictures were taken about a week after he was born. Jake definitely can't wait for our little one after holding this cutie.

If you want an announcement....

We will be posting plenty of pictures of our little one on the blog but no specific stats or anything. We will, however, be emailing a birth announcement shortly after his birth. If you want to get one and I don't have your email address, leave your email address as a comment and I will add you to the list. Thanks!!!

No News Yet

So, I know that we haven't posted anything for a while but there hasn't been much to post. I'm still pregnant. I will try to get a good belly picture before the baby is born. I'm definitely sticking out there now. Finally! It only took me 9 months to get a good baby belly. I'm getting to the point that I'm ready to be done though. The uncomfortable stage has hit. I can luckily still sleep fairly well but I'm uncomfortable most of the day now. :-) Ahh... the joys.

My mom set up a webcam baby shower this past weekend since we live 2,000 miles apart. I was amazed that so many people came! Thanks mom for putting it together and thank you everyone who showed up!! We are so excited to spoil our little one with everyone's generosity.

Well, there's not much else to tell. We're just in the waiting zone now. Our next post will hopefully be many pictures of our beautiful baby boy. Have a good week everyone!
